LAND OF THE CUCKOO HOME OF THE OTTER


Even though our otter sightings at Kingairloch were more than I had hoped for including the one glorious hour spent watching an adult female and her two cubs devouring a Large Spotted Dogfish. Even though we had eagle sightings everyday both golden and Sea. Even thought we had many other sightings such as the pair of Golden Plover in the pasture by North Corry and the eerie call of The Northern diver drifting across the loch infront of our cottage the overriding memory I will take away from our stay at Kingairloch is that of the Cuckoo. We had their distinctive call following us in Glen Galmadale, Coire Reidh and Coire Ghardail but actual sightings of them eluded us.
